Remembering Teresa Bruney, DNP, APRN

Teresa Bruney

With a heavy heart, we inform you of the loss of our beloved colleague, Teresa Bruney, DNP, APRN.

Teresa started her post-high school education by attending Jacksonville University. She later began her professional journey in pediatrics in 1986. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Florida and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions.  She worked as a Nurse Practitioner at Worthington Pediatrics until 2021 and then at UF Health Pediatrics at Millhopper. In addition to her clinical practice, she taught pediatrics and role development to graduate students in the College of Nursing at the University of Florida.

Teresa was a dear friend to many, a wonderful colleague, and a selfless mentor at work. At the clinic, she was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement to her colleagues and staff. She was a compassionate clinician, full of laughter, a great listener, a bundle of positivity, and full of life.  Her young patients and their parents simply adored and loved her. But more than anything, Teresa was a wonderful mother to two sons and happy grandmother to two granddaughters. Teresa enjoyed spending time with family, reading, music, fishing, and anything to do with being in or on the water, her favorite being going down to the Keys. She touched many lives and will be missed dearly. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
