UF Health Pediatrics and UF Health Family Medicine are pleased to offer students and their families telehealth visits while children are in school. Telehealth allows UF Health providers to care for students at school using live video chat via Zoom that would include the parent or guardian.
UF Health providers are trained to evaluate and treat a number of physical ailments through telehealth. They can listen to your child to understand their symptoms, perform exams and prescribe medications, if needed. The goal of the program is to provide quality care and reduce the amount of time children and parents are away from school and work due to medical appointments.
UF Health is able to provide these services to any child who is one of the following:
- A patient of UF Health Pediatrics
- A patient of UF Health Family Medicine
- Does not have health insurance
Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology
The University of Florida Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology team has a long history of providing exceptional care via telemedicine and is now pleased to offer telemedicine appointments to your child directly through their school. If you feel like your child struggles to optimize their diabetes management at school and would benefit from a collaborative clinic visit to include parents, school nurses, and our diabetes team, we would be happy to coordinate a visit for you. Thanks to the technologies of telemedicine, busy parents can join a school based telemedicine clinic visit from home, work, or anywhere they have a smart phone and an internet connection. Call our offices at (352) 265-DIAB to schedule an appointment today.
Ask your school for more information about how to sign up today. All students must be enrolled in the program to participate in telehealth medical appointments at school.
