Mary Lou Carson, 81, passed away on Wednesday February 23, 2011. She moved from Akron, Ohio to Gainesville in 1954 with her husband and son. Her husband passed away and she is survived by her son Steve Carson and fiancé Laure Young, brother Donald Ervine (Mary Ellen), sisters-in-law Bernice Lantz, Jean Ervine, brother-in-law James Carson (Linda).
She attended the University of Florida and retired from the University with 30 years of service. She was employed by the College of Education, College of Physical Education and Health, and retired as Business Manager in the Department of Pediatrics, College of Medicine. She was Past President of the Business and Professional Women’s Club, Woman of the Year, served the Cancer Society, Red Cross, was Executive Secretary and Honorary member of the Florida Pediatric Alumni Association.
